Stress Free Return Policy – Guaranteed! At Costume Nation we pride ourselves on great customer service, and part of that commitment to you is providing a stress free return policy. If you don’t like your costume for any reason you can return it, no questions asked.
Please note: Costume styles (colors and fabrics), size variations, and descriptions are subject to change without notice, due to the manufacturer’s production processes. These changes, no matter how slight, are beyond our control. We do our best to catch these issues before they arise, however, the manufacturers do not always notify us of these variations. We do reflect any changes in the website descriptions and as soon as we become aware of them. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you and hope you understand. Not every company measures “small” or “size 6” the same way. Please refer to the sizing charts as provided by the manufacturers of the costumes themselves.
If you wish to return your costume just contact us (using this link and our contact form) within 5 days from the time your costume was delivered (according to the delivery confirmation of USPS, UPS or FedEx), and we will reply with a return authorization number and instructions on how to return your costume within 2 business day (note: during the Halloween seasons, this reply may take a little longer due to the high volume of the season). You must provide your name, order number, the SKU for the item(s) you wish to return (shown on your packing slip), and the reason for the return, otherwise we will not be able to assist you. Important: our orders are shipped by a distributor (as with many companies); if you receive them in any condition that is not acceptable (missing item, damaged item, damaged packaging etc.) you must inform us immediately upon receipt of the item.
Please note that refunds are for the cost of the merchandise only and original and return shipping charges are not refundable. If you return something that has been used, worn, altered, is missing items, or is without the original packaging or garment tag, or has damaged packaging, you can’t receive a refund for that item. In other words, if it doesn’t return to us “as brand new” so it can be sold again, we cannot accept the return. So please double-check to make sure you've included all of the pieces and packaging before returning anything. The following items are NEVER returnable (note: if any of these items are in a packaged costume and have been opened, they will void the return of the entire costume):
- Special Order Items - including all Mascots
- Props that require special delivery
- Oversize items
- Partial Party Kits
- Food & Edible Items including: box mixes, cookies, candy, mints, and edible decorations
- Any item that has been worn, used or altered
- Undergarments, socks, stockings
- CD's and DVD's
- Wigs, wig caps, beards, eyelashes, facial hair or any other artificial hair including hair pieces, hair clips/extensions, headbands, barrettes, hair accessories, and Hats with attached hair (hygiene issue)
- Masks (hygiene issue)
- Prosthetics, fangs or any other fake teeth (hygiene issue)
- Cosmetics (hygiene issue)
- Party Supplies
- Jewelry (hygiene issue)
- Cigarette holders (hygiene issue)
There are certain items we can only take back if they’re returned in the original, unopened factory-sealed packaging. These include:
- Shoes & Boots (Does not apply to shoe covers, boot tops, or costume shoes designed for indoor use only or one time wear). Footwear cannot have been worn, used nor altered. It must include all bags, tissue, cardboard, etc. used for packaging.
- Pet costumes
All returns must have a return authorization number; no exceptions. Any items returned without an authorization number (RMA) will not receive a refund as they will not be an authorized return. Note: we do not refuse packages nor do we pay postage due and we will not return a package that was sent without an RMA.
Exchanges: We do allow exchanges for size within 30 days or delivery. Simply place a new order for the correct size, and contact us with the new AND old order number. We will then provide you with a return authorization number and return instructions for the incorrectly sized costume. Your new order will be shipped immediately after you place it so do not wait for the RMA to be issued.
Note: as with our competitors, on any exchange or return you are responsible for the return shipping. Also original shipping costs are never refunded.
Restocking Fees: On most returns we do not charge a restocking fee, however when more than $100 in merchandise, OR three or more items are returned from a single order, we do reserve the right to charge a 20% restocking fee. This fee will be waived in the case of exchanges (e.g., you return a $150 costume, but purchase the same costume in a different size). There may be a minimum 15% restocking fee for returned items that fall outside our normal return guidelines, including unauthorized refusal of packages. Items will NOT be eligible for a refund if order was refused upon delivery, an incorrect address was provided by the customer, or items are not received on time because the wrong shipping method was chosen by the customer.
Items returned to invalid ship-to address as provided by customer will not be subject to refund.
If there is an error or problem with your order (damaged costume, missing pieces, mis-ship, etc.) you must contact us within 72 hours of the delivery of your order and we will do everything in our power to remedy the problem so you receive exactly what you ordered. Sorry, but or changes to your original order cannot be made at this time. If you do not contact us within 72 hours Costume Nation will not be responsible for the problem. Unfortunately there are no exceptions to this time limit.
